In one of our earlier reviews, we had written about Philips Breeze LED Desk Light as one of the key essentials for a work / study desk setup. Another electrical appliance that is equally essential on a study / work desk is the Havells I-Cool 175mm Personal Fan.
If you are wondering why such a fan is required, then wonder no more! We live in a city along the coastline. As all of us are aware, coastlines are typically good for regulating extreme temperatures such as cold or heat but they also have the distinct disadvantage of being humid. Now imagine a sweltering hot and humid summer and you will get the idea on why the Havells portable fan is quite useful.
Of course, readers may still ask on why we can not simply switch on the air conditioner. Many reasons for not doing that. They are typically not good for the environment and run up huge power bills even with the new class of air conditioners. And importantly, how long are you going to keep the AC switched on? You would be so conditioned to AC that it would become all the more difficult when you step out or there is a power failure. Anyway, simply put, we had our reasons to prefer a portable fan than just switching an AC though sometimes, we did use AC but that is not the norm.
Coming back to the Havells Personal Fan, we had earlier experimented with a few other portable fans but sadly they did not make the cut as there was one or the other aspect that did not work well for us. The feedback for the personal fan on the online shopping portal also felt promising. So when we received delivery, we were quite eager to try it out. Thankfully, we were not disappointed.
The Havells I-Cool 175mm Personal Fan was perfect for our requirements. While we use it for our study cum work desk, yet it can be used anywhere like kitchen, desk, cabin, terrace, outdoors and office. On a funny though not disrespectful note, we have heard that some use it as a hair drier given the wind blast it produces by mounting it on the wall. Not criticising as one reason or use is as good as the other. As the saying goes, "to each his own".
